California Cattlemen's Association

Ten years ago a small group of progressive cattlemen sat down at an annual meeting and discussed how they could help their fellow ranchers stay on their land and sustain their way of life. Shortly after this monumental meeting, a resolution was passed by the cattlemen’s membership to form the California Rangeland Trust.

The California Cattlemen’s Association (CCA) is a non-profit trade association, formed in 1917, that represents California’s ranchers and beef producers in legislative and regulatory affairs. CCA’sfunding is generated almost entirely by voluntary dues paid by members, who in turn determine the direction and policy of the organization. CCA has 38county cattlemen’s association affiliates that serve as a formidable link between the grassroots membership and CCA. CCA is an affiliate of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association with offices in Washington, D.C., Denver and Chicago.

The California CattleWomen, Inc., is the women’s auxiliary of CCA and works to promote the nutritional qualities of beef at schools, supermarkets and before the general public. In addition, the Young Cattlemen's Committee serves as a link to the next generation of California ranchers, promoting education, leadership and career enhancement.
